- April 25th – Our first scheduled work day. The mason will be here to start work on the monument. We will be breaking down into the following teams:
- Mason’s Team – This team will be to support the Mason and keep him “in the mud”. Everything he needs will be provided by the Mason’s team.
- Water Bar Team One – Using pick axe, pry pole, shovel and wheel barrow, this team will be responsible for the installation of water bars on the trail, above the monument. Water bars will be used to divert water that would normally flow down the mountain behind the monument, away from the monument.
- Water Bar Team Two – Depending on how many people show up, and available equipment, we may have two teams working on installing water bars.
- Brush Team – The brush team will scour the mountain collecting large brush. This brush will be used to close off the old part of the trail behind the Monument. A brush pile will be established until the Mason has completed his work. We will need to keep the old trail open for easier access to the monument.
- Trail Team – A new spur around the monument will be established and cleaned. This will be the new section of the Blue trail. Using handsaws and loppers, this team will ensure a clear path along the new section of trail.
- Food Team – This team bring food and drinks onto the work site.
- Escort Team – This team of two will be used to bring people in and out of the work sites. Due to the nature of the course, we want to make sure people know how to get from and to their cars.
